For years, Adam Mosseri said long videos didn’t belong on Instagram. This week, he changed his mind.
On 26 October 2026, Instagram announced “Features”, a new format that allows creators to post horizontal videos of up to 90 minutes long. It’s built for podcasts, vlogs, comedy sets and interviews, the kind of content people usually go to YouTube for.
How do Features work?
Features will appear in Explore and the main feed, alongside Reels. Creators can post up to eight short clips from a Feature as Reels, with each clip linking back to the full video.
Instagram is also updating its TV app to put Features front and center on Samsung, Fire TV and Google TV, with Apple TV coming soon.
Can creators make money from it?
Not directly yet. There’s no ad revenue share for long-form videos, but creators can bring their existing brand deals with them, and Instagram is paying some creators directly during the test. For now, Features is being tested with creators in Brazil and the US.
