Ever posted a Reel you were sure would blow up, and then… crickets? Instagram now wants to help you figure out what happened.
The platform just rolled out the Edits assistant, a chatbot built into Edits. Think of it as that one brutally honest friend who actually reads your analytics. It looks at your followers, views, watch time, likes, shares and comments, then factors in what's trending and what your audience is into. From there, it spots patterns you'd probably miss and tells you what's working and what isn't.
The best part? It doesn't try to make your content for you. Creators told Instagram they want help with the boring number-crunching, not someone taking over the fun part. So the assistant does the digging, and the creative calls stay yours.
Meta first teased this back in June, and YouTube is working on its own AI editing tool for early next year. But while YouTube is going after the editing itself, Instagram is clearly betting on data.
