Meta is adding a new set of experimental video-editing tools to Edits, giving creators more control without having to leave the app.
The latest updates include speed curves for more precise speed ramping, one-tap colour correction for exposure, contrast and tone, and folders to organise projects. Android users are also getting adjustable layers, helping creators keep different elements consistent throughout a video.
None of these features is particularly groundbreaking on its own, but together they make Edits a more complete editing tool. Speed controls add more creative flexibility, while colour correction and project folders take care of some of the less exciting aspects of content creation.
All of the new features are available through Edits’ Beta tab, allowing creators to test them and send feedback directly to Meta before wider rollout.
For creators, it is another step towards making Edits a serious part of the content creation process, rather than just another app sitting on the phone.
