Recent code discoveries in Meta's Threads app point towards the development of a "Loops" feature, eerily similar to community groups found on X.
While official details remain scarce, leaks indicate "Loops" could be a dedicated space for users to join and participate in discussions around shared interests. This functionality mirrors features found in X Communities, Facebook Groups, and Reddit subreddits.
Previously, Threads relied on hashtags then hyperlinked tags to categorize content, which wasn't the most intuitive for finding specific discussions. If "Loops" becomes a reality, it could significantly streamline user interaction within the app.
It's still early days, but the potential competition between Meta and X for online community dominance is an interesting one to watch. Only time will tell which platform will ultimately emerge as the preferred space for users to connect and engage around their shared passions.
