We’ve all done it. You see the perfect pair of boots in a TikTok ad, wonder if they run small, leave to Google it, and three videos later you’ve completely forgotten they exist. TikTok is done losing customers that way.
The platform just introduced three AI tools to get people from “ooh, cute” to “ordered.” First up is Shopping Assistant, a chat window that pops up on the product page so shoppers can ask about sizing, materials or colors, and get answers based on information provided by the brand. Then there’s Buy Direct, which turns checkout into a one-click affair using saved cards and addresses, with order tracking available right in the app. No more typing your address for the 400th time.
And for bigger decisions, like choosing a university or booking a test drive, there’s Lead Agent. Instead of a boring form nobody wants to fill in, it actually chats with people, answers their questions and collects their details once they’re ready.
For now, all three tools are being tested with eligible advertisers, so brands that want to get involved should slide into their TikTok sales rep’s inbox.
