Instagram users can now delete individual posts of uploaded carousel posts. As explained by Instagram chief Adam Mosseri: “[after uploading pictures on a carousel post] you can now go and pick one that you don’t like. You can then go to the three dots at the top right, click edit, swipe to the photo you want to get rid of, and you will see a little delete icon at the top left, and you can just delete it like that!”

This feature allows users increased control over their content and eliminates the need to delete the entire carousel if an issue is found in only one post – an action that is useful for regular users and brands alike. Furthermore, since carousels were reported to be the most engaging type of post on Instagram, this new deletion feature is likely to be intensively used.
