Instagram is swaying from it visual-centric nature and testing a text-only  feature

This is certainly no good news for Snapchat!

Instagram is upping the ante for Stories and testing a new “Type” feature that lets users add photo-free text. The Type feature comes with several fonts to pick from, an alignment tool, and gradient background. It is supposed to show up alongside other features and filters like Live, Boomerang, and Superzoom.

Even though this feature is still in the oven and not guaranteed to see the light of the day, Snapchat needs to up its game in 2018 as Instagram is not slowing down.
