Instagram tests turning all videos to Reels

When Instagram’s head Adam Mosseri said that the platform will ‘double down on video and focus on Reels’ in the upcoming year he surely meant it!

To simplify and streamline the video experience on the platform, Instagram is currently testing a feature that turns all video posts into Reels. 

A spokesperson from Meta explains the new test as follows:

‘We’re testing this feature as part of our efforts to simplify and improve the video experience on Instagram.’

With this change, if a user whose account is public posts a video, anyone will be able to see it within the Reels feed and via the used audio search. Users will even be able to remix it turning the full thing into a full-fledged Reels experience.

The new option is being tested with select users and it’s not clear whether it will be available to everyone else or not.
