Snapchat rolls out ‘Sounds’, licensed songs for snaps
After too long of a delay that allowed both TikTok and Instagram to attract creators to their video platforms, Snapchat is finally rolling out the ability for users to add licensed songs to their snaps from a curated catalogue of music
Called ‘Sounds’, the new feature is now available to all the users of the iOS Snapchat app around the world (yes, Instagram Stories music, we are looking at you). Snap is using an exclusive preview of ‘Lonely’, Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco’s newest single, to kickstart the feature. To use it, Snapchat users:
“can add music before recording video by selecting the Sounds tool (with the music notes icon) on the right-hand side of the Camera screen and choosing a track from the Featured Sounds list. Alternately, they can select a track from the Sounds tool after taking a Snap.”
