LinkedIn rolls out verification for company pages

LinkedIn has introduced a new feature: Company Page Verification. This update aims to combat misinformation and boost user confidence by clearly identifying legitimate company accounts.

LinkedIn verification provides a visual indicator, a blue checkmark badge, that confirms a company page is authentic and represents the official presence of the business it claims to be.

While the specific details of the verification process are still under wraps, LinkedIn has hinted at a multi-layered approach. This could involve confirmation based on company registration documents, website ownership verification, and potentially, connections and affiliations with verified users working at the company.

It’s important to note that this feature is still in its early stages. Initially, verification is being offered on a limited, waitlist basis. However,  LinkedIn’s commitment to combating misinformation suggests this program will likely expand in the future.
