Instagram reveals public post shares

Instagram has introduced a significant transparency feature by making public the number of times a post is shared.

The criteria for what constitutes a share and why the feature is visible to specific accounts remain unclear. However, the shift in social strategy towards sharing and building community is apparent. 

This emphasis on shareability has intensified as users, especially teenagers, spend more time on direct messaging and Stories. Consequently, the distinction between regular users and influencers has blurred, impacting marketing strategies.
