More Twitter 2.0 experiments
Ever since Elon Musk appointed himself as Chief Twit, the Blue Bird app has been stuck in lab mode.
The latest experimentations entail a new ‘Verified Views’ counter, which will assumingly display the number of Twitter Blue members who saw your tweet, alongside the total count. However, in the meantime, the metric will account for regular viewership.
We get Twitter’s need for its paid subscription tier, but it’s not clear how this soon-to-roll-out feature will succeed in weeding out spam. Or what “Verified” even means in the first place. Does it imply that bots have been farming views? Is it an admission that the counts have been grossly inflated?
