Twitter, now called X, is giving brands an ultimatum to either buy more ads or say goodbye to their gold checkmark.
As of August 7, advertisers that haven’t reached certain spending thresholds will lose their official brand account verification.
In other words, companies must have spent a minimum of $1,000 on ads in the last 30 days or $6,000 in the past 180 days.
In light of the financial struggles X Corp. has been facing due to ad revenue drops, it’s hardly surprising that Elon Musk’s “Super App” is trying to make waves in the advertising industry.
