Maybe that eight-dollar fee you just paid to join the Blue community will start bearing you some good fruit.

To fulfill his once-made promise, Elon Musk will be prioritizing Blue subscribers in search result rankings alongside heightened visibility for their replies on tweets. But we’re not sure how paying for priority will be shooing off scammers and demoting spammy activities. 

Uploading 60-minute videos comes as part of the privilege package, up to 2GB in size inside the same tweet. The caveat here is that this option is only available for web, and Twitter will be forced to modify the original video resolution and bit rate. 

But we expect worse. Think piracy & copyright infringement suits in the dozens, unfair monetization, & adult content outbreaks. Without a speck of doubt, this new option will definitely be incurring more costs on Twitter to maintain its infrastructure.

We’re not really sure how Papa Musk thinks this can be a money earner, especially with the collapsing attention spans of infinitely-scrolling homo sapiens. Nonetheless, it’s rather an interesting move, knowing the industry is hell-bent on going short-form. So Youtube, take heed!
