TikTok expands its one-to-many messaging tool
TikTok is turning direct messages into a powerful new community tool.
The platform is expanding access to its Bulletin Boards feature, a one-to-many messaging system that lets creators and brands send updates directly to followers without opening the floodgates to replies. Think of it as Instagram’s Broadcast Channel, but on TikTok.
Initially tested with a small group of creators, Bulletin Boards are now being rolled out more widely, giving more users a new way to share updates, event announcements, product drops, or even personal messages in a private, more direct space.
For creators, this offers an easier way to build loyal communities within the app, cutting the need for external platforms like Discord or Telegram. And for brands, it’s a smart new format to share exclusive updates or special offers with their most engaged followers.
As TikTok doubles down on intimacy and exclusivity, Bulletin Boards could become the next big way brands keep their communities close — and keep the conversation inside the app.
