TikTok, known for its signature short-form video format, is testing the upload capability for 30-minute videos, challenging platforms like YouTube.

Initially restricted to 15 seconds, TikTok has progressively increased the upload limit to 1 minute, then 3 minutes, 10 minutes, and recently experimenting with 15 minutes. 

This expanded limit offers possibilities for diverse content, from cooking recipes, beauty tutorials, and educational material to comedy sketches and even full TV show episodes. Paramount, for instance, released “Mean Girls” in 23 small parts on the app, while “The Sopranos” provided 25-second episode summaries.

Notably, TikTok is also experimenting with features like horizontal full-screen mode and video fast-forwarding.
