TikTok Shop launching in Beta

Following initial tests of its shopping platform — stretching from 2021’s rocky start in the UK to ByteDance’s unrelenting push for conquering Southeast Asia since 2022 — TikTok is further expanding its e-Commerce footprint in the USA, despite all governmental scrutiny.
The company has been sending out email invitations to a wider circle of US-based “valued sellers,” encouraging them to sign up and give TikTok Shop a shot prior to public release.
It is noteworthy that TikTok has been cranking up its e-Commerce efforts in the States since last November.
As for the signup process, it’s a piece of cake: Any user can apply to become a TikTok Shop merchant, regardless of their total number of followers.
However, product approval is a more complicated process, as all listings must abide by TikTok’s seller guidelines.
Fingers crossed that TikTok USA manages to replicate the successes of its sister app Douyin. We’re terribly itching to have our own TikTok Ramadan shopping sprees here in the GCC!
