YouTube rolls out new music ad solutions

Following its massive success as Coachella’s main streaming hub, YouTube has announced two new advertising features that will further position the app as a key player in the music industry.
In turn, this will also help businesses cash in on hit songs and tap into the Gen Z demographic.
Starting off with, well, Gen Z Music! This feature uses AI-powered audience signals to identify the songs most loved by Gen Z users, allowing brands to better connect with their younger audiences by showing up alongside these trendy music clips.
YouTube then collects these tracks into lineups, which can include long-form music videos (MVs), Shorts or just pure audio from YouTube Music.
Up next we have another AI-driven ad placement option: “Trending Music on Shorts.” This feature strategically places your ads inside Shorts that use popular songs currently trending with Gen Z YouTube viewers.
As a result, reach and resonance by association will be maximized, and brand awareness gets amplified.
YouTube will be piloting Trending Music on Shorts in these upcoming few months, so stay alert!
