YouTube takes on Discord with “Communities”

Youtube is now stepping into Discord’s territory with an expanded “Communities” feature, while giving its trusty old Community tab a fresh coat of paint and a new name: “Posts.” Don’t worry though–it’s still the same feature you know and love, just with a sleeker, more modern vibe.

YouTube‘s putting more power in creators’ hands with the new “Community Hub” in the YouTube Studio app. This centralized hub consolidates all channel activity, making it easier than ever to share text updates, images, and spark discussions with fans. And here’s the cherry on top: AI-powered replies are now part of the mix, helping creators streamline moderation and keep conversations flowing.

For now, getting into “Communities” is still invite-only. So, keep an eye on your inbox and your YouTube Channel page for that golden ticket. Once you’re invited, simply hit “Go to Community” and boom–you’re in the club.

This update marks another step in YouTube’s mission to enhance its social capabilities. By blending content creation with community-building, YouTube is reshaping how creators interact with their audiences in the digital space- and giving platforms like Discord a run for their money.
