Begone, Twitter typos!

Tweeters, bask in your (mixed) blessings.

Twitter has finally landed its editing service with five times the sweetness. It will be available for Twitter Blue subscribers to test by the end of September.

Everyone will be allowed to edit their Tweets eventually (alongside any image, video or alt text) a couple of times, within a 30-minute window right after publication. However, all these limitations might be tentative as developers observe usage patterns.

The company mentioned that the altered Tweets will be accompanied by a label notifying of the changes incurred, with the ‘Edit History’ indeed accessible to the public via a pencil icon.

Twitter stated in its official announcement

We’re hoping that, with the availability of Edit Tweet, tweeting will feel more approachable and less stressful. You should be able to participate in the conversation in a way that makes sense to you, and we’ll keep working on ways that make it feel effortless to do just that.

We too hope that this highly awaited feature won’t wreak security and bitcoin-scamming havoc or even lead to a misinformation frenzy of free-roaming propaganda machines, as opined by many experts.
