LinkedIn makes external links less appealing

As part of its “feed simplification” update announced months ago, LinkedIn recently changed how links are displayed in organic posts. The platform has shrunk the preview images for links that lead to external websites.

This means that when you share an article or blog post from another site, the preview that appears in your feed will be much smaller and in turn less appealing, potentially leading to decreased click-through rates. There’s a catch though: sponsored posts are not affected by this change.

This move by LinkedIn has some users up in arms. Critics argue that it unfairly penalizes professionals who rely on sharing high-quality content from other sources. After all, not everyone has the time or resources to constantly create original content for LinkedIn.
