Meta’s got some Reel-y cool updates 😎

Meta was back at Cannes Lions this year, with its creator-led Reels SuperStudio activation taking center stage.

Following a successful pilot testing, businesses will soon be able to run ads between Reels on Instagram, an option previously exclusive to Facebook. 

These ads can seamlessly blend into Reels videos, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted viewing experience for users. 

Additionally, Meta introduced app promotion ads (formerly known as app install ads) for both Facebook and Instagram Reels, allowing creators to better harness the attention of curious consumers.

Finally, Meta also touted an AI-based feature that will help marketers optimize their music choices in single-image Reels ads, while granting them free access to high-quality music from the Meta Sound Collection.

By capitalizing on the soaring popularity of short-form content – the cultural currency of our digital era – Meta is clearly playing catchup to TikTok, as it turns up the heat on some sizzling advertising expansions.
