If you are a native Arabic speaker, you are already aware of the nuances around gender within the Arabic language.

If you are not a native Arabic speaker, then you must know that the language is complex and all verbs are gendered—and the ‘general’ form is always masculine. It’s as if the platform language only addresses men, which, well, is not very inclusive.

An example taken from Twitter’s blog:

“Tweet” will be غرّدي (which addresses women) rather than the default Arabic today, which is غرّد (addressing men). Also, “Explore” will be إستكشفي rather than إستكشف.
