Twitter brings even more features to Spaces

With Fleets gone, Twitter is now putting all its resources in its audio-only Spaces format. Last week, the platform was spotted both rolling out and testing new features to make Spaces a robust addition to their core experience.

The first feature that was rolled out is taken directly from Zoom’s playbook. Users joining a Space will now have the ability to ask questions or pitch into the conversation with a ‘raised hand’ emoji, just like with Zoom, Teams, or any other professional web conference platform.

The second feature, albeit still under testing, is the introduction of Twitter Topics to Spaces. Basically, users creating a Space will have the ability to add three topics that are related to the theme of the room. This will mean a considerable improvement in Space discoverability as users outside of their followers circle will be able to access these conversations.
