Instagram has announced that it is currently testing a ‘Live Producer’ tool, which is an option that will enable users to go live on the platform via desktop using streaming software, such as OBS, Streamyard, and Streamlabs.

‘Live Producer’ is currently being tested with a small pool of users. As per a Meta spokesperson’s announcement:

‘We are always working on ways to make Instagram Live a meaningful place for shared experiences. We’re now testing a way to allow broadcasters to go Live using streaming software with a small group of partners.’

This will certainly open doors for Instagram Live higher-quality production armed with more than just a phone camera, and we are excited to see what’s waiting for us!
