Just today we published a post in which we praised Instagram’s integration with Facebook and showed our excitement about a potential new feature.

This post, however, is the opposite.

As it turns out, Instagram is testing having a list of business accounts they think you should follow as your default timeline in the app. You will have to actually tap on a separate button to see your regular timeline.

Will the businesses pay to be featured in the purported ‘Suggested’ tab? Probably. Does that mean that literally the first thing you will see when you open the app is ads? It seems like it. Are we excited about it? Not one bit.

Instagram, don’t do it.
