YouTube includes video chapters in search results
Last year YouTube announced the automation of video chapters, so that creators wouldn’t need to take extra time categorizing the content of their videos. Now, the platform is leveraging video chapters to improve its search and discovery capabilities. If your brand is on YouTube, then this is an important feature to keep an eye on as it could, in principle, potentially impact SEO considerations.
The platform’s latest update will expand on the regular thumbnails that appear as part of your search results. According to YouTube:
Now, you’ll be able to make even more informed decisions about what you’re going to watch through video chapters directly in the search page. When available, these time-stamped images detail the different topics covered in videos and let you better evaluate the video you’re about to watch. You can also jump directly to the section most relevant to your specific interest.
